Founded by clinicians and public health professionals, OSAF works closely with government and partners to provide technical assistance, generate evidence through health research, promote health awareness, and contribute to public health, community education, and social welfare. Grounded in the principles of social justice and accountability, we strive to support inclusive, equitable, and responsive health systems that serve all communities, especially those left behind.
The One Step Ahead Foundation (OSAF) was established in 2018 to address critical gaps in healthcare access and health education across Nepal. From its inception, the organization focused on reaching underserved communities that lacked adequate medical services. As the organization grew, OSAF identified key areas where intervention was most needed. The foundation began developing specialized healthcare programs, starting with primary health care services. Over time, OSAF established expertise in oral health care, screening camps, health promotion and also became a pioneer in supporting government in maintainance of health governance mechanisms within Nepal's healthcare system to ensure quality and accountability.
To improve the quality of life of communities by ensuring equitable access to quality healthcare services, health promotion, and implementing sustainable initiatives that strengthen public health systems, social infrastructure, and positive behavioral change for long-term community well-being.
